Simmerl

adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Simmerl has found a home! His story: The loving male dog arrived quite relaxed in his foster family. Quickly, he adapted to life in a household. Simmerl is already house-trained, walks well on a leash, enjoys car rides, and is generally obedient and curious. Dog introductions on a leash still need further training. Here, Simmerl occasionally has some difficulties, as this was not practiced in Romania either. Loud noises, sirens, and thunder do not faze the black fluffball. Through his foster family, he now has the chance to find his own family. Simmerl is 37 cm tall and weighs around 11 kg. He therefore has an ideal size to be everywhere. A confident single dog can live in the family, but here he clearly prefers the ladies. We wish for the little Simmerl an active family that enjoys working with him and experiencing adventures, because the 6-year-old definitely does not belong to the old iron. Simmerl is curious and wants to be appropriately engaged. A small garden where he can play would be ideal but is not necessary. Cats should not live in the household, as they sometimes chase after Simmerl. Simmerl will be neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas in his new home. He has an EU pet passport and can be adopted after a positive assessment. Who would like to give the lovable male dog a home? He looks forward to a visit at his foster home. Many thanks to Brigitte K. for taking over the nametag for him. As of: 21.07.

Stand: 21.07.2024

About Simmerl

What life with Simmerl looks like

Simmerl is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Simmerl, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Simmerl?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Simmerl on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Simmerl if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Simmerl already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Simmerl isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Simmerl and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
