Adopt Siren

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy

Siren comes from a Hungarian animal shelter. She was seized along with 29 other dogs by authorities. The dogs were found on an abandoned farm; some were chained, while others roamed freely. Their owner would visit every few days to provide water and food. No cuddles, no kind words, no walks. Currently, Siren is still wary of strangers and barks at them when someone enters her kennel. The Pinscher mixed-breed female dog is curious and will take treats but is still hesitant. However, she has only been at the animal shelter for a few days. When the caretaker enters the kennel, she already jumps around her. In four weeks, she will likely have built more trust, allowing herself to be petted by her primary caregiver and walked on a leash. Dogs usually learn this quickly at the animal shelter because getting out of the kennel is a highlight for them. Still, Siren will need time in her new home to settle in, build new trust, and relax into her new life. Initially, bringing Siren home means welcoming a small, fearful barker, so it's better if she doesn't move into an apartment where neighbors might complain. Once Siren is settled, she will likely bark less, and you can work on this with her. Anyone who wants to give Siren a loving home should bring plenty of time and patience and provide a quiet, secure environment. Small children should not be present in the new home. Siren gets along well with other dogs of both genders. Having a confident, existing family dog would be beneficial but is not required. Siren is, of course, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, vet-checked, and comes with an EU pet passport. As always, we emphasize that a dog from an international animal shelter needs time, patience, and loving care to adjust. New impressions, routines, and bonds should grow gradually. Those willing to walk this path together will be rewarded with a particularly deep connection. The handover will take place on 09.05.2026 in Berlin or, alternatively, in the Stuttgart area if someone falls in love with her and gives her a forever home! About Siren

What life with Siren looks like

Siren is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen in Ketzin.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Siren, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Siren?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Siren on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Siren if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Siren already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Siren isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Siren and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
