Adopt Siri

Jack Russell Terrier · Male · Young · 1 year

Breed: Jack Russell x Pomsky Color: Brown-White Age: January 2, 2025 Gender: male Neutered: yes Reason for surrender: wants to be a single dog Characteristics: Siri (approximately 30 cm) is a very intelligent, loving, and playful female dog with a big heart. She loves long walks, enjoys being outdoors, and greatly appreciates the attention of her people. In everyday life, Siri is attentive, curious, and eager to learn. At the same time, she needs people who can take the time, have patience, and enjoy working with her. Topics like leash manners as well as barking in stress or uncertainty situations are currently being trained and have already improved significantly during individual walks. Therefore, attending dog training classes during the getting-to-know-you phase would be of great benefit. Unfortunately, Siri does not understand the second female dog in the household in the long term. She often feels under competition and wants to please her people, which has become increasingly stressful for both dogs. Therefore, we wish for Siri a loving place as a single dog with people who can give her the necessary attention and affection. It is very important to us that Siri finds a suitable and permanent home.

Rasse: Jack Russel x Pomsky Farbe: Braun-Weiss Alter: 2.

About Siri

What life with Siri looks like

Siri is a medium-sized young adult jack russell terrier dog waiting at Berner Tierzentrum in Switzerland.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Siri, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Siri?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Berner Tierzentrum handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Siri on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Siri if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Berner Tierzentrum will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Siri already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Siri isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Berner Tierzentrum early rather than rehoming privately; they know Siri and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
