SISKA

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 7 months

Estimated birth date: January 2026 Short description: friendly, adventurous, curious, people-oriented, affectionate, still a bit uncertain, female+ male+ Siska, estimated to have been born in January 2026, was discovered alone on the street in late July 2026 and brought to the animal shelter. Initially, she was very shy and reserved, gradually seeking contact. However, she has since become lively, curious, and incredibly sweet. We can hardly believe the story Siska brings with her, as it is reported that she snatched a woman when discovered on the street. Yet from the first minute, she showed a completely different nature in the shelter: Siska is a delicate, submissive, and very friendly young female. From day one, the caregivers could easily touch, pick up, and even give her a vaccination without her resisting or showing stress. If at all, Siska must have been so strongly pressed and thus fell into total panic, but even then we cannot imagine it, as she has never shown any form of aggression. On the contrary - Siska wants to do everything right, seeks closeness, enjoys caresses, and quickly warms up to sensitive people. She also behaves completely uncomplicated with her fellow dogs and happily roams with them in the exercise yard. She is housed in the kennel with the little Zaro, and the two get along great. So we are looking for a loving home for this enchanting little girl with empathetic and dog-experienced people, where Siska can flourish in a safe environment with peace and understanding and develop into a wonderful companion. Siska moves into her new home chipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and with an EU pet passport. Have you fallen in love with this wonderful young female? Then we look forward to your message! You can use the self-disclosure form (or alternatively the contact form) to get in touch.

About SISKA

What life with SISKA looks like

SISKA is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Pfotenretter Ungarn in Pfotenretter.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting SISKA, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about SISKA?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Pfotenretter Ungarn handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw SISKA on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt SISKA if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Pfotenretter Ungarn will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is SISKA already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if SISKA isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Pfotenretter Ungarn early rather than rehoming privately; they know SISKA and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
