Siska (w)

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Siska searches for her home for life 🐾💔 The little, charming Siska was found with her two babies on a field – simply abandoned. A dog mom with two puppies… alone. What she experienced, we do not know. But we do know that she is a wonderful being. ❤️ Thankfully, Siska had the chance to come to a private animal shelter in Romania – with Dana, in the city of Botoșani. There she is now in safety and can slowly recover from everything. 🍀 Siska is about 2 years old and roughly 35 cm tall – so exactly the perfect middle: not too big, not too small, but just right. 🐶 At the shelter, she shows her best side: She is friendly with other dogs, currently still a bit cautious, but always curious and open. With patience, love, and time, she will surely continue to blossom and show her happy, young side. ✨ Siska is a gentle, loving female dog who simply wants to arrive. And: She was a great mom! 🐾 Naturally, Siska is now neutered, fully vaccinated, and ready for her journey into a new life. She travels with an EU pet passport and TRACES. 🐕📄 ❗️Important note: Siska is a living being – not a "product." She will be a part of your life for many years. She costs time, patience, and also money – sometimes more than you plan. She must learn, perhaps a lot at the beginning and maybe her whole life. Those who are not ready to take on this responsibility for many, many years, who are looking for an "easy solution," or treat an animal like merchandise that can be returned when it's inconvenient or a vacation is on the horizon – please do not contact us. It saddens us that we have to write such lines, but please remember: "Having a dog is not a right, but a privilege!" Who will give this brave dog mom the home she so deserves? 🏡💕 If interested or with questions, feel free to contact us – Siska is waiting for you!

About Siska (w)

What life with Siska (w) looks like

Siska (w) is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. in Nürnberg.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Siska (w), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Siska (w)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Siska (w) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Siska (w) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Siska (w) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Siska (w) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Siska (w) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
