Sisy

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

Sisy is a one-year-old female dog with a height of approximately 65 cm. She has a long, white coat that gives her a majestic appearance. Despite her past experiences, Sisy is a friendly, affectionate, and playful dog. She seeks human contact, enjoys being petted, and is lively and cheerful. Sisy also gets along well with other dogs. She lives with other rescued dogs at the old mine and integrates well into the group. There is a possibility that Sisy has Herdenschutzhund genes, given her size, build, and long, dense coat. If this is the case, she may have many wonderful qualities, such as being loyal, forming a close bond with her owners, and being a calm, attentive, and independent dog. However, she may also be wary or territorial in certain situations. Sisy may have a special sensitivity due to her past experiences. She needs people who respect her boundaries and give her time to build trust. Although she may react submissively and fearfully, she should never be forced into close proximity. We are looking for a loving and patient home for Sisy, where she can finally experience that human hands do not have to hurt. People who cannot change her past but want to give her a beautiful future. Sisy is a young, friendly, and lively dog who has not lost her trust in humans despite her possible traumatic experiences. She wants to play, cuddle, be present, and simply belong. Now she just needs a home where she can truly arrive forever. After a positive preliminary check and against a deposit, Sisy can travel to her new home spayed, chipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and de-fleaed with an EU pet passport. Thank you to Anca! You gave Sisy her name and thus an identity.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Vielen Dank an Anca! Stand: 26.09.2026

About Sisy

What life with Sisy looks like

Sisy is a extra-large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sisy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sisy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sisy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sisy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sisy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sisy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sisy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
