Adopt Sivert

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 5 years

Sivert is a charming hamster, estimated to have been born in June 2021, who is now looking for a safe and loving home. He came to us four years ago after being found abandoned in the woods, and since then he has lived a good and fulfilling life with his brother. Recently, he lost his best friend and is now alone – therefore we would like to find a new home for him where he can get a new hamster friend 💚 He is a bit cautious at first, but when he feels safe, he shows a clear and charming personality – he often lets you know when he wants attention or something good to eat. His favorites are dandelion, fresh grass and vegetables. He is also playful and bouncy, and likes to jump onto his little house. Sivert values calmness, but can become a bit uncertain, so he needs patience and quiet surroundings. He thrives best in quiet company, and something very special is that he really likes it when someone plays guitar for him. He is used to dogs and has previously lived in a home with a lot of activity around him. Sivert is a hamster that is easy to fall in love with, but he needs a little time to bond with new people. Sivert is health checked, neutered and microchipped.

About Sivert

What life with Sivert looks like

Sivert is a adult mixed breed rabbit waiting at Dyrebeskyttelsen Oslo in Oslo.

Rabbits are social animals — most shelters recommend adopting them in bonded pairs rather than alone. They need fresh hay daily, several hours of out-of-cage time, and rabbit-safe spaces to explore. They live eight to twelve years, longer than many people expect.

🇳🇴Adopting from Norway

Norwegian rescues require thorough background checks. Animals leave with a Nordic pet passport and full vetting. Norway is outside the EU so import rules differ slightly — TRACES applies.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sivert, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sivert?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dyrebeskyttelsen Oslo handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sivert on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sivert if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dyrebeskyttelsen Oslo will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sivert already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most rabbits on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sivert isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dyrebeskyttelsen Oslo early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sivert and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NO). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
