Dit is Sjonnie! Achtergrond: Sjonnie heeft helaas geen makkelijke start gehad. Hij leefde op straat en verloor zijn broertjes en zusjes door het verkeer. Uiteindelijk kwam hij bij de dierenarts terecht vanwege een wond in zijn bek, veroorzaakt door een stukje plantmateriaal. Door een abces waren ook enkele tanden aangetast. Inmiddels zijn er 3 tanden verwijderd. De tweejarige Sjonnie is zo’n kat die het leven graag op standje lekker rustig aan zet. Geef hem een zachte bank, een fijn plekje bij het raam en af en toe een aai over zijn bol, en meneer is dik tevreden. Vooral wanneer hij languit ligt te luieren, mag je gerust even komen kroelen. Sterker nog: dat wordt zeer gewaardeerd. Gek op mensen: Hij is een lieve, sociale kater die eigenlijk meteen besluit dat mensen best leuk zijn. Ook met andere katten kan hij goed overweg. Hij houdt van vriendelijk gezelschap, maar dominante types? Daar bedankt Sjonnie beleefd voor. Drama is tenslotte veel te vermoeiend als je ook gewoon kunt slapen. Beetje lui: Zijn favoriete bezigheden zijn op de bank naast zijn mensen liggen, ergens op een meubel of krabpaal neerploffen en uitgebreid uit het raam kijken. Buurtwacht Sjonnie mist niets. Zijn voorwaarden: Knuffelen doet hij graag, maar wel een beetje op zijn eigen voorwaarden. Praat rustig tegen hem en laat hem zelf naar je toe komen, dan heb je al snel een tevreden Sjonnie naast je. Achter hem aan lopen of hem proberen te vangen vindt hij (nog) spannend. Zijn eigen vertrouwde mensen kunnen hem wel optillen. Een echte schootkat is hij op dit moment nog niet. Maar in een rustig huis met minder dieren zou het zomaar kunnen dat hij ontdekt dat een menselijke schoot eigenlijk gewoon een verwarmd kattenbed is. Ondanks alles is Sjonnie vooral relaxed, sociaal, zachtaardig en dol op aandacht. Een kat die niet veel nodig heeft om gelukkig te zijn: een veilig thuis, lieve mensen, vriendelijk kattengezelschap en natuurlijk een comfortabele plek om héél belangrijk niets te doen. Sjonnie komt op 7 september aan in Nederland. Hij is gevaccineerd, gechipt en gecastreerd. Hij is een binnenkat, alhoewel een catproof tuin of balkon afgeschermd met een kattennet natuurlijk een bonus zijn voor hem. Update September 2026: Sjonnie is FIV-positief, vastgesteld met een PCR-test.
