Adopt Skippy

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 8 years

I am a very sweet and curious rabbit. As soon as someone comes, I immediately come to check it out. I enjoy being stroked, but I need to be approached calmly, as too much commotion around me upsets me, so I can't live with very young children. Interior decoration is my specialty: I always find a different spot for my litter box. The caretakers put it in a corner, but I disagree and start moving it right away. I look for a place where there's enough space to hop and run. And where I can live together with a loving female rabbit. If you want to go on a date with this active, friendly, and sweet gentleman, send an email to my caretakers! Stichting Dierenopvang Hengelo Zilverstraat 30 7554 NH Hengelo 46.75.18.812 RSIN:

About Skippy

What life with Skippy looks like

Skippy is a adult mixed breed animal waiting at Dierenopvang Hengelo in Hengelo.

Every animal has their own temperament and history. The shelter knows Skippy far better than any listing can convey — ask about daily routine, ideal household, and what kind of adopter they're hoping for.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Skippy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Skippy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dierenopvang Hengelo handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Skippy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Skippy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dierenopvang Hengelo will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Skippy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most animals on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Skippy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dierenopvang Hengelo early rather than rehoming privately; they know Skippy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
