Sky - Privatvermittlung

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

♀, born approximately May 2025, active, confident Sky is a female Old English Bulldog - Australian Shepherd mix approximately 1.3 years old with a shoulder height of about 40cm. Sky lives in a family of five and is their first dog. Unfortunately, the family was not informed about the breed-specific needs and characteristics of this mix before acquiring her, nor did they sufficiently inform themselves. In short - the owners are completely overwhelmed by Sky, her activity and her needs. This has led to Sky taking charge in the completely inexperienced dog family. We worked with her at a dog school and a trainer from Rütterdogs. Unfortunately, her people still couldn't keep up with training the dog consistently. Sky is particularly lacking in mental stimulation. The conclusion is that the owners are completely overwhelmed while Sky is extremely understimulated. This has led to Sky creating her own program, vehemently protecting the house and garden, not tolerating visitors and breaking things out of boredom. The seven-year-old daughter was already nipped because Sky wanted to reprimand her and now naturally fears her. After previous exercise, Sky can already stay alone for 3-4 hours. She likes to play but has never learned to give up the toy on command. She has no problems with other dogs. She is approachable at a whistle and comes too. Leash training still needs work. We wish for Sky a home with experienced people (especially with the Australian Shepherd breed), as she embodies many characteristics of this breed. With Sky, consistent work must be done; she needs guidance, boundaries, clear structures and breed-specific stimulation to help her become calmer, more balanced and obedient. DE·Show original

About Sky - Privatvermittlung

What life with Sky - Privatvermittlung looks like

Sky - Privatvermittlung is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. in Berlin.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sky - Privatvermittlung, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sky - Privatvermittlung?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sky - Privatvermittlung on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sky - Privatvermittlung if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sky - Privatvermittlung already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sky - Privatvermittlung isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sky - Privatvermittlung and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
