Skye

Female · Puppy · 9 months

Skye enjoys the company of other dogs, so would happily share her home with another, as well as mature children. This pretty lady doesn't require her own garden, but if she does the fence would need to be around 6ft as she has easily escaped over a 4ft fence previously! Skye is super playful and affectionate, and she's able to be left home alone for around 3 hours at a time. Animal Welfare licence number is AWE02, as licenced by Glasgow City Council. Skye is a totally gorgeous 8 month old Boxer puppy who is just delightful! She can be a little skittish in unfamiliar new situations, so Skye is hoping to find a family who can give her the love and patience to blossom! As she is just a youngster, she will need some help with her training, including house-training.

About Skye

What life with Skye looks like

Skye is a puppy/kitten dog waiting at Dogs Trust Glasgow in Glasgow.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Skye, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Skye?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Glasgow handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Skye on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Skye if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Glasgow will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Skye already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Skye isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Glasgow early rather than rehoming privately; they know Skye and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
