Snoopy

Unknown · Adult · 8 years

Snoopy's owners were unfortunately unable to care for him anymore. Therefore, we are taking temporary care of him, but what he really needs is a warm home of his own again. Snoopy is a very social and affectionate little dog. He likes to seek out human company and if there is a free lap, he will gladly use it. As for his breed, we can't immediately pinpoint a specific breed. In terms of size and posture, you can roughly compare him to a Jack Russell. Other dogs? No problem! He lives here with other dogs and that goes well. Cats? Unfortunately, they are not his best friends. A home with other small pets also seems less suitable to us. Snoopy has meanwhile been medically checked by our vet and has been neutered. His teeth needed quite a bit of care on arrival and some teeth have been pulled in the meantime. For his future owner, we recommend having his teeth checked annually for plaque and tartar. In short: a social, friendly little dog who would love to find his own people again. Do you think Snoopy is right for you? Then feel free to send us an adoption application and tell us more about the home you can offer him.

NL·Show original

About Snoopy

What life with Snoopy looks like

Snoopy is a small adult dog waiting at Dierenasiel Ganzeweide in Veurne.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇧🇪Adopting from Belgium

Belgian shelters operate under regional law (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels each have their own rules). All adoptions include the Eurochip, vaccinations, and a stewardship contract. Several Flemish shelters partner with Dutch and German rescue networks.

Frequently asked

Adopting Snoopy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Snoopy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dierenasiel Ganzeweide handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Snoopy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Snoopy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dierenasiel Ganzeweide will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Snoopy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Snoopy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dierenasiel Ganzeweide early rather than rehoming privately; they know Snoopy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
