Kan op een appartement: ja, mits een tuin Kan met kinderen: nee Angel is samen met drie andere hondjes in beslag genomen wegens verwaarlozing op een helaas gekend adres. Het heeft langer geduurd voordat Angel vrijgegeven kon worden voor adoptie. Ze is bang, heeft meer tijd nodig om mensen te leren kennen en kan zichzelf beschermen wanneer je te snel over haar grenzen gaat. Daarom zal ze veel tijd nodig hebben om haar nieuwe baasje(s) te leren vertrouwen. Angel begint haar vaste verzorgers, haar aandachtspersoon en de routine van het asiel steeds beter te kennen. Inmiddels komt ze paté eten, is ze blijer wanneer je langs haar kennel of weide loopt en iets tegen haar zegt, en laat ze zich af en toe heel voorzichtig kriebelen. Voorheen vluchtte ze vooral en bleef ze op afstand. Gezien de omstandigheden bij haar vorige eigenaars kunnen wij ons moeilijk voorstellen dat Angel veel (positief) contact met mensen heeft gehad. Hoe win je Angel haar vertrouwen? Met héél veel tijd en geduld. Lekkere paté helpt haar zich beter te voelen bij mensen, maar dat betekent niet dat ze zich meteen laat aaien wanneer ze het lekkers komt eten. Haar toekomstige adoptanten zullen er rekening mee moeten houden dat ze meerdere keren naar het asiel zullen moeten komen om Angel haar vertrouwen te winnen. Een andere stabiele hond kan zeker een goed voorbeeld zijn. Dit kan vooraf uitgetest worden. Op dit moment is Angel echter loops, waardoor we haar niet kunnen uittesten met (intacte) reuen. We verwachten dat Angel zich beter zal gaan voelen bij haar eigen mensen, maar bezoek zal ze niet ontspannen ontvangen. Een aparte, rustige ruimte voor Angel is daarom een goed idee. Voor deze dame zoeken we een klein gezin. Een huis met een tuin is belangrijk, want wandelen aan de riem is voor haar niet gekend en zal nog een traject zijn. Een druk sociaal leven is voor Angel te stressvol. We zoeken mensen die haar karakter en situatie begrijpen, respecteren en haar de tijd geven om alles op haar eigen tempo te verwerken.
