Adopt Snoopy

Dachshund · Unknown · Young · 2 years

Snoopy – Merseyside 2years 7months, Male, Red Smooth Coat Miniature (7kg), Neutered. Adoption fee £350 Snoopy is looking for his new forever family after sadly coming into rescue due to fighting with the other male dogs in his original home. Since moving into foster care, this gorgeous boy has proven himself to be the ultimate house guest. Indoors, he is a total lap dog who just wants to be wherever you are. He’s incredibly quiet, remarkably compliant, and has even learned to settle beautifully when people come to the door. He hasn’t quite figured out how to play with toys yet, but he more than makes up for it with his affectionate personality and his love for a good snooze right next to you. His favourite place to be is out in the garden, pottering about at his own pace, sniffing the flowers, and sunning himself on the grass. He is a gentle soul who really just wants to please his people. Since being in foster we’ve reviewed his reactivity towards other dogs on walks and while he does show barking and lunging behaviours, this is coming from a place of over-excitement rather than aggression. He’s already made brilliant progress with consistent training and his lead work is getting much better. He no longer barks at people passing by and he just needs a bit of help building his confidence and trust when he spots another dog in the distance. Because he thrives in a calm environment, we are looking for a quiet, adult-only home where he can be the only pet. He has so much love to give that he doesn’t want to share it with other resident dogs, and it wouldn’t be fair to put him through the stress of a busy household. He’s a sensitive boy who needs a couple or an individual with the time and patience to continue his training. In return, he will pay you back a thousandfold with his unwavering loyalty. His foster mum describes him as “truly the bestest boy” and we are very excited for him to find his forever home.
