adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Snow has found a home! His story: Snow is a gentle giant, gets along well with fellow animals, is content, quiet, and simply a lovable guy. Snow also likes to show his still very playful side, is open and curious. Driving a car is okay for Snow. He is house-trained and can be left alone for some time. So far, he shows no interest in cats. In the shelter, he lives on an area with several other dogs and has many doggy friends to play with. Snow learns quickly and is very intelligent. The sheep that graze there are loved by Snow, and he always seeks their company. Sometimes, he lies next to them next to the pasture fence. A farm with many animals would be perfect for him. He is friendly and approachable with all people and shows himself very cuddly and open. Snow is about 1.5-2 years old and with a height of around 70 cm, a large dog. We cannot rule out that Snow has herding dog qualities. Therefore, we are looking for an experienced home for him that either already has experience with these qualities or is willing to learn about them and above all provides the optimal conditions. Snow would rather live in the countryside, and an enclosed garden would be great. Herding dogs bring great qualities. People who already have experience with herding dogs do not want any other breeds anymore, as they, despite their independence, are very loyal and faithful companions. Originally, Snow came from the public shelter in Bistrita, Romania. He has long, beautiful, white fur that needs to be well maintained. Snow was shorn once in the summer so that the fur can grow back well. Snow is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. He brings his EU pet passport with him and can be adopted now. Will you give Snow the life he so deserves? Many thanks Christine M.-S.! Your nametag was the starting gun for a new life! Heartfelt thanks Charlotte K.! You support Snow with a monthly sponsorship. As of: 12.08.

Lieben Dank Charlotte K.! Du unterstützt Snow mit einer monatlichen Patenschaft. Stand: 12.08.2023

About Snow

What life with Snow looks like

Snow is a extra-large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Snow, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Snow?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Snow on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Snow if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Snow already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Snow isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Snow and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
