Adopt Socio

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 2 years

Socio ID No.: 1011034 Breed: mixed breed Age: approx. 12/2015 Sex: male Shoulder height: approx. 55 cm Neutered: Yes Location: Marbella (Spain) Inquiry form Socio – exceptionally handsome with a distinctive character Socio (*approx. 12/2015, approx. 55 cm) was brought multiple times in the past to our Spanish partner shelter, Triple A Marbella, after being found without his owner. He stayed at the animal shelter for several days before being picked up again. In November 2024, Socio was finally surrendered by his owner. Socio is now looking for a new home where he can spend his golden years without having to cycle in and out of the animal shelter every few months. Socio loves going for walks with our volunteers. He’s not the type who eagerly greets every stranger right away. Socio is a dog with his own personality and needs his personal space. He appreciates people who respect him and treat him like the majestic animal he is—not as a cuddly sofa companion. Socio is active and athletic, yet relaxed in his kennel and shows no signs of stress. Since he comes from a home environment, he is house-trained and accustomed to living indoors. He is likely a mixed breed possibly including Akita/Husky/Jindo, though we cannot say for certain. Socio is seeking people who will accept him as he is and respect his character. His new home must have a secure, escape-proof garden; he doesn’t need other animals around, and it’s best if there are no children in the household. Whether he could live with cats can be tested if needed. Socio is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and holds an EU pet passport. Prior to travel arrangements, he will be tested for Mediterranean diseases. Vaccinations: Yes Mediterranean disease check: Yes Microchip: Yes Classification as dangerous dog: No Transport included Contact: Ruth Bachhausen Tel: Email:

About Socio

What life with Socio looks like

Socio is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Helfende Hände e.V. in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Socio, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Socio?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Helfende Hände e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Socio on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Socio if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Helfende Hände e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Socio already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Socio isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Helfende Hände e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Socio and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
