Son

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

Son - young mixed-breed male dog is looking for his forever home Son currently lives in our Spanish partner animal shelter. Together with the female dog Cora, he was given up by his previous owner. Both dogs were left at the shelter without further information about their past. Although Son is still so young, he has already experienced what it's like to lose his home. All the more we wish that his stay in the animal shelter remains only a short intermediate station. So far Son shows himself as a friendly and social dog. He gets along well with people and also gets on well with other dogs without any problems. Since he is not long in the animal shelter, the caregivers are getting to know his character better and better. Like many young dogs, Son is still at the beginning of his life. It is possible that he has a lot to learn yet - from relaxed living in the household through leash training to staying alone and all the small rules of coexistence. That takes time, patience and people who accompany him lovingly. For Son we wish a responsible home that gives him security, orientation and many beautiful shared experiences. Whoever decides on a young dog is not only deciding for many happy moments, but also for many years of responsibility. With Son you get a loyal companion who finally wants to arrive and enjoy his new life to the fullest. If you are aware of what comes with adopting an animal shelter dog and have fallen in love with the rescue nose, please contact the responsible mediator from SALVA Hundehilfe. We would also be very grateful for providing a foster home! Here's Son's video

About Son

What life with Son looks like

Son is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Son, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Son?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Son on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Son if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Son already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Son isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Son and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
