Songlar

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 8 years

Sweet Songlar absolutely loves a fuss and is happiest when he is getting attention, affection and plenty of cuddles. He is always the first one over to greet the staff at Dogs4Rescue who are hoping to get him the loving home he deserves soon. Songlar is an 8 year old, male, medium Crossbreed and is an incredibly kind, friendly boy who has the most adorable way of greeting you, with a little ‘aroo’ noise that sounds like a mini howl!. He has the cutest frosty chops, but don’t be fooled by his distinguished looks as he is still full of energy, fun and plenty of personality. Songlar could live with other dogs, subject to successful introductions, and he would possibly enjoy having a canine companion. He can also live with cats and children aged 12+ – what a superstar! He is currently settling in to foster care and blossoming. Songlar has a wonderfully quirky appearance, including one ear that sticks straight up, which only adds to his charm. He is such a lovely-natured boy and has a gentle, affectionate personality that makes him very easy to fall for. He would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loyal friend to share their life with. In the past, Songlar was involved in a road traffic accident where he suffered fractures to his right front leg and required surgery to support the leg while it healed. He made a very good recovery and, once the bone had fully healed, the supportive plate and screws were removed. Despite his previous injuries, Songlar is currently doing very well. He walks normally on all four legs and shows no signs of pain or discomfort. X-rays have confirmed that his previous fractures have completely healed. He is healthy, comfortable and active, and enjoys getting out and about and walking nicely on lead. Songlar has so much love and fun to give and is ready to leave his past behind and enjoy the happy, comfortable life he deserves. He would make a truly wonderful companion. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ If you would like to give sweet Songlar the loving home he deserves, please contact Dogs4Rescue below: Email: Or complete the Apply to Adopt form on their website Please note Dogs4Rescue generally rehome within Greater Manchester and the North West. About Songlar

What life with Songlar looks like

Songlar is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at The Oldies Club in United Kingdom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Songlar, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Songlar?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. The Oldies Club handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Songlar on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Songlar if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — The Oldies Club will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Songlar already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Songlar isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with The Oldies Club early rather than rehoming privately; they know Songlar and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
