Sony (FB)

Mixed Breed · Male

PS FZ, born: 11/22 male dog, castrated. On the Finca since 11/25. Sony – a gentle Pointer with a big heart and the wish for a loving home. Sony spent his first three years of life with a hunter on Fuerteventura. When the owner finally realized that the conditions for his dogs were anything but optimal, he asked for help – and so Sony was allowed to move to the Finca Zoe, where he has since visibly blossomed. From the start, Sony showed what a fine, social dog he is. With other dogs, he is absolutely friendly, takes on the subordinate role, avoids conflicts, and lets even small squabbles pass. However, he still likes to play, enjoys dog company, and moves confidently in any group. Sony is also open, gentle, and trusting towards people. He shows no fear, is happy to be touched, and enjoys closeness and cuddle moments. At the vet, he behaves impeccably and lets everything happen. He loves children – friendly, cautious, and always trying to do things right. He is familiar with car travel in the transport box. When the engine starts, he sometimes gets a little excited in the box for 1–2 minutes, but after that, he calms down completely. By the fifth minute, Sony is calm, lying relaxed, and travels problem-free. On the Finca, Sony shows some hunting behavior typical of Pointers: he finds butterflies and geckos exciting, and he admires the rabbits hopping by at the fence. All within a well-controlled framework. Sony’s foster mother would like to always have Sony in her vicinity. When she leaves the Finca, he barks briefly – but even here, his balanced nature shows: he calms down reliably after a few minutes. In short, Sony is a friendly, balanced, and affectionate dog who wants to please, is sensitive to his people, and loves harmony. He brings a wonderful mix of gentleness, playfulness, and a light hunting instinct – a great companion for people who can give him love, structure, and a warm home! His new home should ideally be in a rural area and have an enclosed yard or a secured dog run in close proximity. His future people should enjoy walks through field and forest. Sony can be very well rehomed with other canine companions, but he can also move into a new home as a single dog. However, continuous dog contact must be ensured. If you want to give this pretty Pointer a home, then contact us!

About Sony (FB)

What life with Sony (FB) looks like

Sony (FB) is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierhilfe Fuerteventura in Dransfeld.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sony (FB), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sony (FB)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierhilfe Fuerteventura handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sony (FB) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sony (FB) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierhilfe Fuerteventura will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sony (FB) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sony (FB) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierhilfe Fuerteventura early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sony (FB) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
