Hello, dear people! It’s Soof here! I’m a Shih Tzu mix, born in 2017. A few years ago, I was privately rehomed because my first owner had to move into a nursing home. Unfortunately, my second owner has now also moved into a nursing home. From the shelter, I’m hoping to finally find my forever home—third time’s the charm, right? I’ve kept my sunny disposition, you know—I’m not one to let anyone get me down, but I’m sure you understand what I mean. I’m everyone’s best friend: sweet, calm, affectionate, yet smart too, and I love going for walks. Plenty of reasons to adopt me, don’t you think? What kind of owner am I looking for? I’m searching for a loving owner who’d enjoy taking me on long walks and giving me plenty of attention. Someone who’d love to join me for fun training sessions—not because I don’t listen, but more because I like being challenged instead of just lounging around the house or taking short strolls around the neighborhood. Right now, I’m looking for a home where I can stay permanently. I’m packing my suitcase one last time, moving one more time, and then I’ll finally get to enjoy a carefree future. What else can I tell you about myself? Living with other dogs: I get along great with other pups and will definitely let you know if I disagree with something. Living with cats: I can adjust to cats, so if they’re okay with me, we’ll probably get along just fine. Living with children: I’m open to older kids who treat me with respect. Being left alone at home: I did learn this from my previous owner, but I’m looking for a home where I won’t have to be left alone too often. Type of living environment: It doesn’t really matter to me. Socializing with dogs outdoors: Sure thing—unless it’s those big, boisterous dogs; I find them a bit scary. Walking on leash: I walk nicely—do you too? Off-leash: I absolutely love it—the freedom is wonderful—but I don’t take advantage of it and always keep an eye on you. Traveling by car: That’s a bit nerve-wracking for me, but I bravely make it through. Playing and training: I’ve never done that before, but it sounds super fun to me. Medical concerns: At my previous home, I had allergic symptoms (itching, ear infections), but right now I’m completely symptom-free. Lump in ear (benign tumor). Had dental cleaning. Soof has been staying at our shelter since July 8, 2026. Soof stands about 35 cm tall at the shoulder and weighs around 8 kg. Do you think we’d be a good match? Hallo lieve mensen, Soof hier! Ik ben een kruising Shih Tzu en geboren in 2017. Een paar jaar geleden ben ik privé herplaatst, omdat mijn eerste baasje naar een verzorgingstehuis moest. Mijn tweede baasje is nu helaas ook naar een verzorgingstehuis gegaan. Vanuit het asiel hoop ik nu wel mijn forever home te vinden: driemaal is scheepsrecht toch? Ik heb mijn zonnige humeur gehouden hoor, mij krijgen ze niet klein, maar u snapt vast wel wat ik bedoel. Ik ben een allemansvriendin, lief, rustig, aanhankelijk maar ook slim en hou van wandelen. Genoeg redenen om mij te adopteren toch? Wat ik voor baasje zoek? Ik zoek een lief baasje, die lekker met mij wil wandelen en waarbij ik veel aandacht krijg. Een baasje die het leuk vindt om met mij naar een leuke training te gaan. Niet omdat ik niet luister, maar meer omdat ik graag uitgedaagd wil worden in plaats van alleen maar bankhangen en een rondje door de wijk. Ik zoek nu een huisje waar ik definitief mag blijven. Ik pak nog 1x mijn koffer in, nog 1x verhuizen en dan ga ik heerlijk genieten van een zorgeloze toekomst. Wat ik nog meer over mezelf kan vertellen? Met andere honden samenwonen : Ik kan goed met andere hondjes opschieten en laat ook wel merken als ik het ergens niet mee eens ben. Met katten samenwonen : Ik kan wel wennen aan katten, dus als dat andersom ook is, dan komt dat vast goed. Met kinderen samenwonen: Ik sta open voor grote kinderen die mij met respect behandelen. Alleen thuisblijven: Ik heb dit wel geleerd bij mijn vorige baasje, maar ik zoek wel een huisje waar ik niet vaak alleen hoef te blijven. Soort woonomgeving: Maakt mij niet zoveel uit. Buiten sociaal met honden: Ja hoor, tenzij het van die grote, drukke honden zijn, die vind ik eng. Gedrag aan de lijn: Ik loop lekker door, u ook? Kan loslopen: Vind ik heel leuk, heerlijk die vrijheid, maar ik maak er geen misbruik van en hou u goed in de gaten. Mee met de auto: Dat vind ik een beetje spannend, maar ik sla mij er dapper doorheen. Spel en training: Dat heb ik nog nooit gedaan, maar lijkt mij superleuk. Medische aandachtspunten: Bij mijn vorige baasje had ik allergische klachten (jeuk, oorontsteking), maar op dit moment ben ik klachtenvrij.
