Wir haben Soraya zusammen mit weiteren zehn Hunden aus unserem rumänischen Partnertierheim übernommen. Wenn ein Hund den Himmel auf Erden verdient hat, dann ist es sie, denn sie hat Schlimmes erlebt. Erinnern Sie sich noch an den Tierschutzskandal in Rumänien, bei dem die grausamen Machenschaften des Tierarztes Daniel Lazâr aufgedeckt wurden? Er hatte in einem sogenannten Tierheim in Suceava über Jahre hinweg Hunde brutal misshandelt und auf bestialische Weise getötet. Mindestens 12.000 Hunde wurden eingeschläfert, über 2.000 starben an Krankheiten. Dieses Vernichtungslager für Tiere wurde durch öffentliche Steuer- und EU-Gelder finanziert. Nach der Veröffentlichung von verstörenden Videoaufnahmen wurde das Tierheim behördlich geschlossen und die überlebenden Tiere von verschiedenen Vereinen gerettet. Suraja war eine von ihnen! Sie wurde zusammen mit weiteren Hunden zunächst in unserem BMT-Victory-Shelter in Brașov aufgenommen, wo sie medizinisch versorgt und aufgepäppelt wurde. Als es ihr wieder gut ging und wir endlich wieder Platz hatten, durfte sie zu uns reisen. Soraja ist eine ganz bezaubernde Hündin! Sie ist zu ihren Bezugspersonen super lieb und verschmust, anfangs aber noch ein wenig ängstlich (was nach dem, was sie erleben musste, nicht weiter überrascht). Sie entwickelt sich hier bei uns toll und wird jeden Tag ein wenig mutiger. Dennoch wird man mit ihr etwas Geduld brauchen. Sie kennt keinen Alltag und kein Leben in einer Wohnung. Viele Geräusche werden ihr fremd sein. Bei ängstlichen Hunden sagt man ja immer, dass sie dringend einen zweiten Hund brauchen, aber bei Soraya haben wir das Gefühl, dass sie in erster Linie eine ganz enge Bezugsperson braucht, auf die sie sich in jeder Situation verlassen kann.
