23-06-2026 Senior Soraya; onze Golden Girl. Een schatje die eigenlijk niet heel veel vraagt. Net als meer senioren, ligt ze de hele dag een beetje haar dag te verliggen. En dat is toch zonde, want deze mooie, voorzichtige dame, heeft nog wel wat jaartjes te leven. Vaak zijn deze rustige hondjes juist heel makkelijk om in huis te hebben… ze vragen niet veel van je. Soraya houdt evengoed van aandacht en soms van een stevige knuffel. Laten we haar nog ouder worden en haar laatste dagen uitzitten in de Safe Haven? Deel alsjeblieft mee voor een (tussen-)huisje voor prachtige Soraya. Soraya in het kort: – Lieverd – Houdt van aandacht – Houdt van een smikkeltje – Houdt van een knuffel – Is goed met andere honden – Voorzichtig – Senior Het begin: In 2017 werd Giannis meerdere malen gebeld over Soraya door een oudere vrouw in het afgelegen villa bergdorp Prodromos. Soraya was zwanger en ontzettend bang. Giannis is vier keer de berg opgereden om haar te vangen. De vierde keer lukte het met behulp van Dora en een paar Albaniers. Ze werd onderzocht en naar de havenhokken gebracht. Haar pups hebben het niet gehaald. We hebben haar met rust gelaten, want zij was de meest bange hond die Giannis daar had. En dat is ze nog. Soraya is zo bang, dat we haar niet promoten voor adoptie. Sinds ze op de safe haven is, kunnen de mensen ter plaatse wel beter met haar aan de slag. Ze winnen langzaam haar vertrouwen; de ene dag heeft ze meer vertrouwen dan de andere dag. We laten haar en geven haar wat ze nodig heeft. Update 10-12-2022 Petra en Susanne zijn op de safe haven. Toen zij vandaag in de kennels bezig waren en gingen voeren, kwam Soraya uit haar schuilhouding en liep ze wat rond. Ze is duidelijk een klein beetje meer op haar gemak dan twee maanden geleden. Kleine stapjes! Update 13-02-2023 Soraya is nog steeds heel angstig. Ze scharrelt zeker wel wat rond, maar altijd in de verste hoek. Update 08-06-2024 Soraya… heel lang zagen we maar een houding bij haar en dat was in de hoek een beetje in elkaar gezeten. Al een tijdje wordt er aan haar gewerkt en konden we haar, met veel rust, eindelijk benaderen. Inmiddels is ze zover dat ze samen met Donny aan het hek staat en zelfs haar flank aanbiedt voor een aai. Ze is nog steeds heel voorzichtig, maar met veel geduld komen we er wel. Soraya beweegt sowieso niet veel in de kennel, dus is ze nog steeds wat te zwaar. Hoeveel ze weegt weten we niet precies. Met 57 cm en haar uiterlijk gokken we 30kg. Daar moet zeker nog wat van af. Voor haar zijn we niet actief op zoek naar een adoptant, maar mocht het lot in de loterij voorbijkomen, dan gaan we graag in gesprek. Uiteraard kunt u Soraya’s leven op de safe haven ook ondersteunen via virtuele adoptie. 07-08-2025 Ook op Soraya hebben de vrijwilligers een fijne uitwerking. Meldden we vorig jaar al dat we niet actief op zoek zouden gaan naar een adoptant, maar als het lot het wilde zij zeker te adopteren was… inmiddels is zij gewoon . Soraya is niet een hondje wat vooraan staat, of op je af stormt. Zij kan wel eindelijk haar gezichtje laten zien. Want deze pretbek houdt inmiddels best van een goeie knuffel, maar nog meer van snoepjes. En dat heeft haar nog meer uit haar schulp gekregen. Soraya is dus nog steeds wel wat voorzichtig, maar kent ze je, komt ze graag naar je toe. We zijn voor haar op zoek naar een ervaren foster of adoptant, waar ze door individuele aandacht nog meer tot haar recht zal komen.
