Spider-man

Belgian Malinois · Male · Puppy · 3 months

Spider-Man is a high-energy puppy who is looking for breed-experienced adopters who understand that these pups want to work! He will need lots of physical exercise, mental stimulation, training and patience as he grows. A secure outdoor space will be important for helping him burn off energy, and he will need time to learn all the basics, including housetraining, having had a sheltered upbringing. Spider-man cannot initially be left alone, and any time apart will need to be built up gradually, as he can become vocal and distressed when left. He will require a significant commitment of time as being a High energy breed with lots of love, patience and understanding but with the right family, Spider-Man has every opportunity to thrive and become a wonderful companion. Spider-Man and his siblings are excitable 3-month-old Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd puppies who loves meeting new people and exploring the world around them. Like any young puppy, he is teething and will use his mouth to investigate, meaning plenty of nipping and mouthing should be expected. He is outgoing around other dogs and currently enjoys wrestling and playing with his littermates. He could potentially live with another dog following a successful introduction at the centre. Spider-Man can live , dogs and secondary-school-aged children who are dog-savvy, particularly because of his breed and puppy behaviours.

About Spider-man

What life with Spider-man looks like

Spider-man is a puppy/kitten belgian malinois dog waiting at Dogs Trust Basildon in Wickford.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Spider-man, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Spider-man?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Basildon handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Spider-man on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Spider-man if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Basildon will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Spider-man already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Spider-man isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Basildon early rather than rehoming privately; they know Spider-man and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
