Although independent by nature, Spritz is affectionate with people he trusts. He needs a secure private garden where he can explore safely, and a family who can advocate for his space and support him when he feels overwhelmed. With the right home, Spritz has huge potential to thrive. Spritz does have some medical needs that our team here at the centre would be happy to discuss with his new family. Spritz is a handsome 1 year old crossbreed who has spent a short time in a home, although little is known about his past. He is a clever, food-motivated dog who loves showing off his tricks and is mostly housetrained, though he may need a refresher in his new home. While Spritz enjoys playing with toys and exploring on walks, he can be an anxious and sensitive dog beneath his confident exterior. He can find handling and meeting new people overwhelming, so he is looking for a patient, adult-only home with adopters who will take the time to understand his body language and build his confidence. His new family will need to visit him several times before adoption. Spritz will need to wear a muzzle during intense handling and vet visits. Spritz can be possessive of valued items such as food and toys and is currently learning to swap and drop them for rewards. He would prefer to be the only pet in the home, as he lacks confidence around other dogs, but would benefit from regular positive socialisation with calm canine friends.
