Sreberko

Mixed Breed · Male

Sreberko is a stray cat who was lucky to have caregivers who took care of his well-being. They not only made sure his bowl was full, but also immediately noticed when the tomcat began to lose weight rapidly. Initially, it seemed that the weight loss was due to illness. However, it turned out that it was most likely the result of an intense mating period. Unneutered tomcats, driven by a strong instinct, can travel vast distances in search of partners during this time, often neglecting rest and regular meals. But when Sreberko also started limping, the caregivers knew it was time to seek help. So he came to our Mruczarni. The first tests brought surprising information. Although the limp was the reason for the report, the orthopedic examination did not reveal any abnormalities in the limbs. However, it turned out that the real problem lies elsewhere. Sreberko suffers from inflammation of both ear canals, and the left ear is in a much worse condition. The inflammatory process affected not only the eardrum, but also the middle ear. Additionally, all his canines were broken, so the tomcat underwent a sanitation procedure in the oral cavity. He has also been neutered, we have performed blood tests, and we are currently continuing the treatment of the ears and monitoring the effects of the therapy. Now we have an equally important task - we want to get to know Sreberko better. For now, we are giving him time, patiently working on gaining his trust and observing how he settles in Mruczarni. We see potential in him and would very much like him to discover that life by the side of a human can be safe and peaceful. If he opens up to people and shows that he settles in domestic conditions, he will stay with us and we will start looking for the best home in the future. However, if it turns out that despite our efforts, he feels much better as a stray cat, we will consider his return to his place of residence. Today, however, it is definitely too early for such decisions. The most important thing now is to bring him to full health. If you would like to contribute to Sreberko's treatment, we would be extremely grateful for the support of his collection: pl/sreberko-fpk. Thanks to you, we can provide him with diagnostics, procedures, medications, and care that he needs so much now. We will be grateful for every penny and every sharing of our collection.

Teraz najważniejsze jest jedno – doprowadzić go do pełni zdrowia.

About Sreberko

What life with Sreberko looks like

Sreberko is an adult mixed breed cat waiting at PrzytulKota in Poland.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adopters usually cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sreberko, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sreberko?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. PrzytulKota handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sreberko on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sreberko if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — PrzytulKota will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Sreberko already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sreberko isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with PrzytulKota early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sreberko and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
