How do I contact the shelter about STAN?

Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw STAN on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.

Can I adopt STAN if I live in another country?

Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.

Is STAN already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?

Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.

What happens if STAN isn't the right fit?

Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know STAN and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.

Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?

TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.

Meet Stan, a gentle giant with a big heart! 🐾 Stan is a unique dog born in 2018, combining the best qualities: calmness, intelligence, and an incredible zest for life. He is a medium-sized dog with a heart of gold. His friendly nature and balanced temperament make him a quick favorite with everyone he meets. Stan is highly intelligent and learns quickly, enjoys working with humans, and loves playing together. Although he is energetic, he can remain calm and adapts well to the rhythm of home life. Why is Stan the perfect dog? Walking pro: Stan walks on a leash like a pro - he doesn't pull, walks calmly by his owner's side, making every walk a pleasure. Social butterfly: He gets along great with other dogs, making him an ideal companion for dogs already living in your home. Watchful but gentle: Despite his gentleness, Stan can be watchful. He may make a warning sound around strangers, but this is only a sign of concern for the pack, not aggression - he quickly returns to his cheerful self. One characteristic: There is one topic that evokes strong emotions in him - chickens. This topic is best avoided around him 😉, so we are looking for a home without poultry in sight. Stan is looking for a home where he will be treated as a full member of the family - with love and respect. In return, he will give everything he has: unconditional devotion, affection, and the most beautiful canine friendship.

Dlaczego Stan to pies idealny?

About STAN

What life with STAN looks like

STAN is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.
