starsky For adoption starsky ✅Ok female dogs ✅Ok cats ✅Ok children His story Who is Starsky? Taken in January 2023, Starsky had made great progress in socialization, getting along well with all the other dogs, the cat and the teenage son of his first adoptive family. However, a serious motorcycle accident of his former owner upset their daily life, and Starsky was returned for reasons independent of his behavior. Since then, he has shown signs of resource guarding when people enter the home. Starsky is a 2-year-old kind dog with a big heart, very timid but not aggressive. He has received no education so far and pulls on the leash, probably due to his fears or life in a kennel. He is spayed and not affected by the diagnosis. What is his profile? Starsky is ideal for a patient and present family, ready to help him overcome his fears and provide appropriate training. Very attached to humans, he is a real clingy one! As soon as he sees someone, he jumps into their arms and doesn't want to get down. A small size with soft fur, he is sensitive and very sociable, with a beautiful play energy. Support: An educator has already started working with him to correct his behaviors with visitors. His future family will need to be ready to continue this follow-up to help him thrive fully. Adoptable in the PACA region Do you want to meet him? Starsky is currently in foster care until adoption. His well-being and permanent placement are our top priority, so we will take the time to review each application. We thank you for filling out the form by clicking the button below. starsky À l’adoption starsky ✅Ok chiens femelles ✅Ok chats ✅Ok enfants Son histoire Qui est Starsky ? About Starsky

What life with Starsky looks like

Starsky is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Les Amis de Sam in les amis de sam.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Starsky, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Starsky?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Les Amis de Sam handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Starsky on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Starsky if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Les Amis de Sam will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Starsky already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Starsky isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Les Amis de Sam early rather than rehoming privately; they know Starsky and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
