Stella – Mäusepelz mit großer Klappe

Mixed Breed · Female

Stella came to us from private hands due to a hold order. At first, she found it difficult to adjust to the changed situation. Understandably, she was accustomed to a protected family life. Too protected, as the insecure female dog rarely had the opportunity to learn and experience more. It took several days for her to trust us. The positive result of the animal shelter stay—Stella now walks with a variety of different people. Depending on their demeanor, cyclists, veterinarians, joggers, and even opposing people are no problem. However, there are situations where Stella believes she must keep everyone at a distance. Loudly and belligerently. From a failed mediation attempt, we know that Stella needs people with strong leadership skills who do not become protective and calming of Stella when she is in the area of insecurity/fear. She needs clear boundaries that provide her with security. Plus the cuddly and affectionate family life that she deserves. Other animals should not live in the household, and children should only appear at home in age-appropriate visits and ideally be familiar with handling dogs. Since Stella can carry the mauli without issue, a corresponding safety measure in any new environment or unfamiliar situation is possible, and the new family should not hesitate to use it. Especially in the initial phase until a stable bond is formed and one can read Stella. Those who look bad should also use a pair of glasses without being pitied. We prefer a husbandry with few steps, as Stella was once a victim of a traffic accident. A garden would be nice, but is not a condition. We explicitly insist on a visit to dog training classes to further strengthen Stella’s environmental safety, as there is still plenty of room for improvement. Perfectly, she is a cuddly mouse with the people she trusts. She is clean, can be left alone, and is a pleasant passenger. Stella has already successfully completed a behavioral assessment, and she will also be able to do it again. We are happy to advise on fulfilling all the conditions.

Frequently asked

Adopting Stella – Mäusepelz mit großer Klappe, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Stella – Mäusepelz mit großer Klappe?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Schkortitz handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Stella – Mäusepelz mit großer Klappe on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Stella – Mäusepelz mit großer Klappe if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Schkortitz will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Stella – Mäusepelz mit großer Klappe already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Stella – Mäusepelz mit großer Klappe isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Schkortitz early rather than rehoming privately; they know Stella – Mäusepelz mit großer Klappe and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
