Stella &#8211

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 5 years

Stella now lives in 78736 Epfendorf. All the best, Stella. Heartfelt thanks, Mrs. H. In Dormagen, a lively lady is waiting to start anew. Stella, the name of the witty whirlwind, is a 4.5-year-old (as of September 2025) Yorkshire Terrier weighing just 4kg (but she packs the energy of a 40kg dog in those small legs=. Stella spent her previous life with an older couple. The man was her faithful outdoor companion, the guarantor of joyful adventures in the neighborhood, and the leash holder when Stella met her four-legged friends at the park. Unfortunately, her companion passed away this year, and her sole human caregiver can no longer walk. Since the family has very little time to take care of Stella, the little female dog doesn't even leave the house anymore and has to wear diapers… Anyone who knows what it means for a clean dog to have to make a mess in its own nest knows that Stella is suffering not only from the loss of her master but also from her new, very unfavorable living conditions. Her mistress knows that this can't continue, and that's why we are now searching for a new home for the playful toy truck. Stella hasn't received much training, and during the time her owners alternated between the hospital, she has forgotten what little she had learned. But she shows extreme curiosity, wants to be encouraged and challenged, and we know that she will be a top student in all subjects in the hands of someone who can take care of her. But even without perfecting the Hund Knigge, Stella is already a wonderful sunbeam who conquers hearts with every flip of her paws. She is delighted by even the smallest affection, is people-oriented (and that applies to all people – of any size, age, or shape), and gives the sweetest kisses, but Stella can also be on her own sometimes and behaves impeccably when she is in charge of the home. She is very friendly to other dogs and loves to play exuberantly. Since she hasn't been on regular walks for so long, she needs to work on recall and free-running, but once that works again, our little tornado will turn every meadow into an adventure playground. Stella is in excellent health; she has been vaccinated on schedule and is microchipped. Of course, things like vet visits, car rides, and outings are no challenge for Stella; she is simply grateful to be able to be there and gather new impressions (and cookies!) along the way. By the way, our lively terrier lady still has a practical talent. She lets you know when the doorbell rings. If you have a discreet doorbell and often miss the package delivery person, then you shouldn't hesitate twice whether Stella is the right choice for you – hm, you're already hopelessly in love, or?

Stella lebt jetzt in 78736 Epfendorf. Alles Gute, Stella.

About Stella &#8211

What life with Stella &#8211 looks like

Stella &#8211 is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. in Gernsbach.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Stella &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Stella &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Stella &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Stella &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Stella &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Stella &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Stella &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
