STELLA

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 10 years

STELLA - found nearly starved - female dog, ca. 10 Y., born ca. 2015/16, SH 68 cm, ca. 68 kg. - Waiting in Greece! - Stella was found by a couple on a motorcycle in the mountains of the Peloponnese. The animal was completely starved and weak. She would not have survived the next few days. Stella desperately needs a good home - maybe also with her friend Leon. Stella can travel to Germany with Leon in late October. Stella is very loving and clingy with people. She does not like other female dogs very much and can be jealous. She has no problems with male dogs. Stella is very greedy, which is probably due to her past. She likes to guard a property, but she is very people-friendly and cuddly. Due to her thick fur, it was assumed that Stella must have had puppies. However, none were found. These kind animal friends bravely loaded Stella on their motorcycle and took her to a vet. There, the owners of this breed happened to be and took the severely weakened dog in. Stella could barely stand, and it took her a long time to regain her strength. She was given special food. To make matters worse, she also had leishmaniasis. Her titers have now dropped, and everything is under control. Now, Stella is ready for a new life with loving people who will compensate her for all her suffering. If you want to give STELLA a home, info and contact, Barbara Koch – email:

STELLA - fast verhungert gefunden - Hündin, ca. 10 J., geb.ca.2015/16, SH 68 cm, ca. 68 kg. - Wartet in Griechenland ! Kontakt, Barbara Koch – email: – Gnadenhof Timenio –

About STELLA

What life with STELLA looks like

STELLA is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at Tier-Not-Hilfe in Germany.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting STELLA, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about STELLA?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tier-Not-Hilfe handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw STELLA on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt STELLA if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tier-Not-Hilfe will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is STELLA already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if STELLA isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tier-Not-Hilfe early rather than rehoming privately; they know STELLA and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
