London

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 7 months

The mixed-breed male dog London, barely past his almost 7 months, was picked up from the street. In his short life so far, he has undoubtedly experienced nothing but hardship. In our Hungarian partner shelter, London still showed an awful lot of fear towards humans. If someone came near, he would retreat to a corner, curl up, and tremble all over. One would have liked to take him in their arms, press him close, and tell him that he no longer needs to be afraid. But it’s not that simple. Such things require time, patience, and good experiences. The sweet boy now has the good fortune of moving to a foster family in Potsdam just three days ago. There, he lives with two other dogs and a cat in a flat, getting along problemlessly. In the flat, he already shows a lot of playfulness. He loves running and playing with the other dogs. However, he is not yet house-trained. He still shows some skepticism towards the two-legged family members. London is already seeking their proximity and lying down on the couch. But he still maintains a certain safety distance. When it comes to putting on his harness, he wants to run away, but he will allow himself to be held and will endure the putting on. He has nothing to do with the teenager in the family. If the teenager comes too close, he runs away or barks at him. Outside the flat, he still behaves rather panicky. He runs back and forth on the leash. For the little one, we wish for a family without children that lives in a quiet, low-stress environment and already has at least one strong, only dog that he can orient himself towards. A house and garden in a rural setting would be advantageous. Based on experience, young dogs in a family environment with other dogs make faster progress. Of course, one must first bring a lot of calm and patience. But the most important thing is to intrigue the dog into normal life. Don’t give him special attention but take him along. Easier said than done, especially when working with very anxious dogs. But for those who are willing to go this path with London, after some time, they will be rewarded with a very special deep connection. London is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, examined by a veterinarian, has an EU pet passport, and is listed with a brief description: Name: London Breed: our shelter Gender: male neutered Date of Birth: 24.09.25 Shoulder Height: ca. This is a young puppy.

DE·Show original

About London

What life with London looks like

London is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen in Ketzin.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting London, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about London?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw London on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt London if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is London already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if London isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen early rather than rehoming privately; they know London and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
