Stella und Luna

European Shorthair · Unknown · Kitten · 4 months

Stella and Luna had very different starts in life, yet they share the fate of being rescued from a life on the streets by kind people. Stella was born on the street and spent her first days at a busy intersection, while Luna was born in the shelter because her mother Lidina was rescued just before giving birth and her kittens were born in a safe cage. Now the two kittens are together in a cage, giving each other support in the loud and hectic shelter environment. Stella has a very rare and beautiful coat color. In addition to white and gray-striped, there are also brown spots in her fur. A very special unique. Stella is very curious, but also a bit cautious when it comes to people. She can be easily lifted, but still needs some time to enjoy the closeness and relax. The white Luna with brown spots and a brown tail, on the other hand, feels very comfortable in her arms. Her gaze wanders curiously around - there is so much to discover, which has been denied to her so far. The two cute kittens wish for nothing more than to finally leave the cage behind and find someone to play and cuddle with. How nice would it be if the two could finally lie in a soft cat bed and let the sun shine on their fur while they take a nap between romping and adventures. We wish for the two a home in a traffic-free environment, where they can enjoy outdoor time in nature. The two can travel to their new home together, but they will also be placed individually, provided that at least one cat of similar age is already present. Do you see the two already chasing the angel in your living room? Then get in touch with me quickly. The two can hardly wait any longer. Stella and Luna are vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped.

DE·Show original

About Stella und Luna

What life with Stella und Luna looks like

Stella und Luna is a puppy/kitten european shorthair cat waiting at PfotenFreunde Sardinien e.V. in Germany.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Stella und Luna, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Stella und Luna?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. PfotenFreunde Sardinien e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Stella und Luna on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Stella und Luna if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — PfotenFreunde Sardinien e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Stella und Luna already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Stella und Luna isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with PfotenFreunde Sardinien e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Stella und Luna and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
