Adopt Stine

Mixed Breed · Female

Current location: Barlad, Romania Age: born end of 2024 / beginning of 2025 Gender: female, spayed Character: rather quiet, social, people-oriented Speciality: none No single housing! Hello, I am Stine. 🐾 My life didn't start particularly easily. A kind animal rescuer found me on the streets of Romania. There I was all alone - without anyone looking after me. Fortunately, she saw me and decided that I should get a chance for a real nice cat life. Now I wish for a home where I can finally arrive, because otherwise I would have to go back to the dangerous streets of Romania - a hard place for delicate souls like mine. 😿 I am still a young cat with much curiosity for life. I enjoy observing my surroundings carefully, discovering new things and enjoying when I feel safe and secure. I am rather a quiet cat but sometimes my playful side comes through. 😼 I would be rehomed in suitable for apartment living (preferably with a secured balcony) or in a home with secured outdoor access, so I can explore my new world calmly and without fear. An odd specialty I have: one might think that I am a superstitious cat, as I don't react well to black cats so far, but I think I had a big fight once with a black cat on the streets and every other one that looks like that now reminds me of it. I lived on the street for so long - now I just wish for a place where I can stay forever. Maybe with you? I am already spayed and have received the first vaccinations (feline panleukopenia, feline rhinotracheitis and rabies) and am microchipped. Additionally, I have had spot on and deworming. I tested negative for FIV and FELV via rapid test. You can read all of this in my EU pet passport.

Aktueller Aufenthaltsort: Barlad, Rumänien Alter: geb. Ende 2024/ Anfang 2025 Geschlecht: weiblich, kastriert Charakter: eher ruhig, sozial, menschenbezogen Besonderheit: keins Keine Einzelhaltung!

About Stine

What life with Stine looks like

Stine is a large adult mixed breed cat waiting at Seelenkatzen e.V. in Barsinghausen.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Stine, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Stine?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Seelenkatzen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Stine on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Stine if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Seelenkatzen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Stine already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Stine isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Seelenkatzen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Stine and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
