Storm

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

Storm is a very handsome 3 year old boy whose owners have had to make the sad decision to find him a new home after a change in the family dynamics. Storm is currently living with his littermate and brother, who he gets along fine with, but also an elderly male who Storm has been fine with but has recently started mithering, bullying and annoying, (we have suggested having a full health check on the older male because ill health can often be a cause of this change in behaviour.) Because of this change it’s making life very difficult for the older male which is why Storm needs to move. His owners say, he has no medical problems, he is vaccinated, very active and loves life, he sometimes jumps up but think that it is mainly because he is competing for attention with the other dogs. He is neutered, very loving and friendly and has never fouled in the house after his puppy days. He does not chew or destroy the house. Storm has had residential training which he enjoyed, he sounds like a very intelligent boy, his owners say that he had his brother’s share of the intelligence and good looks. He has been possessive of his toys with the other dogs, but always allows people to take things away from him with no arguments. With visiting people he can give a grumble but very quickly warms up to them, he’s not a barker and recently a visitor to the home joked that he was a rubbish guard dog as he rushed out to say hello then went straight back to bed in the kitchen. Storm is fine to be left at home after exercise, he has the run of downstairs and dog flap access most of the time to the secure patio area. He has lived with the family’s daughter until she gave birth a few months ago, where he was walked regularly and has not shown any aggression towards other dogs while walking with her. He hasn’t lived with children but hasn’t shown much interest in the children he’s met when out walking. He’s never lived with a cat and keeps clear of the neighbours cat. They have sheep in a field next to them but he hasn’t been interested in them. Storm comes to the whistle and listens to commands. The owners live on a private estate and have not had any experience with him other than at our home, so his recall would need to be revisited. He is a very good traveler, he is quiet and loves looking at the world go by while driving. If you feel you can offer this intelligent lad the exercise and company he enjoys, please contact us asap. Storm is currently in the Swansea area and will be rehomed with his Adoption Contract and his 5 weeks free Agria insurance. About Storm

What life with Storm looks like

Storm is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at GSP Rescue UK in United Kingdom.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Storm, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Storm?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. GSP Rescue UK handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Storm on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Storm if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — GSP Rescue UK will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Storm already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Storm isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with GSP Rescue UK early rather than rehoming privately; they know Storm and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (the shelter's own language). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
