Struppy

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 9 years

Profile: Born around September 2022, Gender: male, neutered: yes, Character: a bit shy but curious and always friendly, gets along well with fellow animals, Size: approx. 45 cm, In shelter since: October 2022, Siblings: Brother Buck Hello everyone out there! I am Struppy – and part of a sibling duo. Together with my brother Buck, I was found when we were still tiny babies. We were probably abandoned, as there wasn’t a single soul to be seen around. Since then, we’ve been growing up here in the shelter with kind and caring people. But now we’re adults and ready for the next step: our own forever home. But now about me! With my floppy ears, my snow-white chin, and my sweet nose, I am quite the looker, don’t I? And my expectant and longing gaze says it all… namely, that I want to leave the dreary shelter life behind and am therefore on the lookout for people who will patiently and without time pressure bring me closer to the new world. What is ordinary for you will be new, foreign, or even scary for me. But all that doesn’t stop me from taking this big step. For I know that there are loving people out there who are ready to take a big step and give me a home. And who knows, maybe you are that person who gives me a new future?! If you are interested in Struppy, please fill out our interest form () or write us an email or a message on Facebook. Struppy is ready to travel and can travel to Germany with the next transport. Our dogs travel legally with Traces. Traces refers to the database system that monitors the entire animal transport within the EU. The dogs travel neutered (if old enough), vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed, and have an EU passport. Additionally, for dogs over 12 months old, a rapid test for the following Mediterranean diseases is conducted before travel arrangements: Lyme disease, Anaplasmosis, Ehrlichiosis, Dirofilariasis, and leishmaniasis. Barbara J. has taken on the sponsorship for Struppy and thus ensures a full plate. Many thanks on behalf of the dogs!. Gets along with other dogs.

About Struppy

What life with Struppy looks like

Struppy is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at Seelen für Seelchen e.V. in Alfter.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Struppy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Struppy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Seelen für Seelchen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Struppy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Struppy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Seelen für Seelchen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Struppy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Struppy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Seelen für Seelchen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Struppy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
