Suede

Male · Young · 3 years

Suede is a lovely boy who adores spending time with people and loves nothing more than the opportunity to get his nose down and find some interesting sniffs! He travels well in the care and has been good for grooming and veterinary handling. He may have the potential to guard so items should always be swapped and not taken from him. Our Behaviour Team can offer advice to help set you and Suede up for success. Suede would like a sleepover with his new family prior to adoption so his new family will need to live within a reasonable distance of the centre Suede is a 3 year old Springer Spaniel X. He is a high energy boy looking for a home with an understanding of his breed and an appreciation for his exercise needs to keep him mentally and physically busy. He is a friendly boy but can have some sound sensitivies and has on one occasion shown aggression when he has been scared. He will need a home where any children are aged 16 and older and are comfortable reading his body language and understanding when he may want his own space. Suede would like to be the only pet in his new home to allow him the best chance to settle; he has been happy to say hello to dogs on walks at the centre but prefers to do his own thing. Suede has a high prey drive towards wildlife so would not be suitable to live with cats or small furries and should be kept on lead when outside of the home. He will need his own secure, private garden to help him settle into his new home and provide direct access for training and play.

About Suede

What life with Suede looks like

Suede is a small young adult dog waiting at Dogs Trust Snetterton in Snetterton.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Suede, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Suede?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Snetterton handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Suede on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Suede if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Snetterton will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Suede already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Suede isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Snetterton early rather than rehoming privately; they know Suede and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
