Suka

German Shepherd · Female · Adult · 5 years

Suka - German Shepherd - 5 years old Today, we introduce you to Suka, our lovely 5-year-old German Shepherd, who has clearly decided that life is too short not to enjoy it to the fullest! 😍 Suka arrived at our shelter after a stay in a pound. This time, unlike some of our residents, we know some details of her story... And unfortunately, she did not have the life she deserved. 💔 She lived in conditions that were not suitable for her needs: she was often left alone, she hardly ever went out and she also suffered from a lack of food. Today, it shows on her small body: Suka is very thin and will need to gain several pounds to regain her ideal weight and recover quietly. But despite everything she has been through, Suka has not lost her joie de vivre. And that's maybe what makes her even more endearing. ❤️ Suka is a bundle of good humor on four legs. Joyful, sparkling, endearing and... slightly clingy! 😂 If you are looking for a dog that will let you live your life in peace, you may need to review your criteria. Suka, on the other hand, prefers to participate in EVERYTHING! Cuddles, games, races, moments of tenderness... She is always up for it! 🥰 She is a very affectionate dog, who loves to move, play and expend her energy. She already knows a few tricks: sit, lie down, give a paw... Madame even has some talents to show off! But behind this pretty ball of energy, there are also some lessons to be relearned. We do not know exactly how she lived before and what habits she may have acquired. Her future family will therefore need to be ready to start from scratch: cleanliness, loneliness, possible destruction and house rules. You will need to give her time to discover her new life and accompany her with patience and kindness. Suka is a dog who wants to learn, who likes to share and who really has everything to become a wonderful life companion. ❤️ 🩺 Health: * Currently very thin: several pounds will need to be gradually gained to regain a healthy weight. * Small fracture on a tooth, to be monitored. * Umbilical hernia operated. * A little tartar on the teeth. Her compatibility: 🐶 Dog: Males OK, female to be tested 🐱 Cats: unknown 👶 Children: unknown 📚 Education contract required. 📍SPA ANNECY MARLIOZ

Madame a même quelques talents à faire valoir ! 📍SPA ANNECY MARLIOZ

About Suka

What life with Suka looks like

Suka is an adult german shepherd dog waiting at SPA d'Annecy Marlioz in France.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Suka, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Suka?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SPA d'Annecy Marlioz handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Suka on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Suka if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SPA d'Annecy Marlioz will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Suka already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Suka isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SPA d'Annecy Marlioz early rather than rehoming privately; they know Suka and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
