Suki

Lurcher · Female · Young · 1 year

Suki is an absolutely gorgeous, gentle little girl who came to us as part of a welfare case. She was quite timid and unsure when she first came to us, but after pairing her up with another lurcher we really got to see her fun, loving and cheeky side start to shine! Suki REALLY loves her kennel mate and can get quite stressed without him, because of this we think she’d do best in a home with another resident dog for company. Homes without a resident dog may be considered, but you may have to expect some separation anxiety or will need to be a home where people are around most of the day. She plays and shares her kennel AMAZINGLY with her mate, there’s not been a single grumble between the two and it really looks like they’ve known eachother forever! Suki can live with dog savvy kids – She does take a little bit of time to warm up to people so if there’s children in the home they’ll have to understand that she may need space to settle in to her new home. Give it a couple of days and she’ll be coming up to you for kisses and cuddles – it doesn’t take her long to trust! Suki is ready to start looking for her new home, she’s just a classic gorgeous little lurcher with lots of potential and she will blossom into the most amazing family pet. Don’t let the sweet face fool you, she’s still a young lurcher who will need the correct exercise, enrichment and stimulation. If you’re an active, patient home with a Suki shaped hole in your heart – do get in touch! She’s an AMAZING little girl who is more than ready to start her new life. About Suki

What life with Suki looks like

Suki is a young adult lurcher dog waiting at description in United Kingdom.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Suki, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Suki?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. description handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Suki on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Suki if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — description will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Suki already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Suki isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with description early rather than rehoming privately; they know Suki and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
