Ref. No.: w-korfu-suki-f-1024 Update April 2026: No one is coming forward for Suki - is she too unremarkable? Not pretty enough? We just don't understand it. Because we think Suki is wonderful! To make it easier for Suki to transition into her future life as a family dog, our shelter manager has now taken her home as a foster dog. This means many new impressions, but also great experiences and outings for Suki - just watch the video from April! Update March 2025: Suki now weighs 24kg. Unfortunately, nothing is happening for her - we just can't understand why? It's finally time for this pretty young female dog to find her forever home! Update December 2024: Suki, Sherlock & Watson are all still waiting for kind interested parties. It's always so sad when young dogs grow up in an animal shelter instead of in their own families. The trio is friendly with people and gets along well with other dogs. They all have a great character, are playful, and love treats! Suki is currently about 55cm tall. She is such an enchanting, sweet lady... October 2024: Suki, Sherlock & Watson are siblings and the puppies of a stray. Their mother passed away in August under unclear circumstances, possibly a snake bite, and the local residents were eager to get rid of the puppies immediately. The rambunctious bunch was then temporarily taken in by an animal rescuer in her garden, but they kept escaping, so for their own safety, they were admitted to the our shelter. In that garden, they also met cats. The three puppy children are more of the laid-back type and not so boisterous. They are typically playful and friendly puppies looking for loving families. All the dogs are vaccinated, microchipped, and have an EU pet passport.

20250506 03 Suki Mai 2025 20250506 02 Suki Mai 2025

About Suki

What life with Suki looks like

Suki is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierhilfe Korfu e.V. in Ratingen.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Suki, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Suki?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierhilfe Korfu e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Suki on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Suki if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierhilfe Korfu e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Suki already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Suki isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierhilfe Korfu e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Suki and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
