Sully

adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Finally, Sully has found a home! His story: Sully and his brother Gello were found alone by the roadside. They were very, very small and were probably raised on bottles, but were then simply abandoned. Gello has already found a home – but Sully has not found anyone to be enthusiastic about him for a year. About 8 months ago, he had to move into a private shelter because his Romanian foster home could no longer keep him. Sully suffers in the kennel, constantly crying and pleading for attention. Our handsome Sully is actually always grinning. He is very friendly, playful, and curious. Sully gets along with people, dogs, and cats – a true all-rounder! He is about 1 year old and has a height of about 54 cm and a weight of 19 kg. Sully is looking for people who will not expect anything from him at first and will show him how a normal dog life works. He is still a young dog and has a lot to learn. Sometimes a mishap shouldn't be held against him and Sully should always be guided with a positive training style. He is looking forward to his new life with nature walks, lots of snuggling hours, and also a visit to the dog training class. It is likely that Sully is in the middle of puberty. The hormone chaos turns the lives of these little rascals upside down. They “forget” a lot of what they have learned and their ears are on full blast. Therefore, it is especially important during this phase to train consistently but lovingly. And there is also good news: This phase will pass! Our Sully is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. She possesses an EU pet passport and can be adopted after a positive home check. Do you want to bring this grinny back to your home? He will enrich your life! Thank you, Oliver U. You have given Sully and his brother an identity. Status: 08.07.

Stand: 08.07.2023

About Sully

What life with Sully looks like

Sully is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sully, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sully?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sully on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sully if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sully already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sully isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sully and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
