Summer

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Summer has found her luck! Her story: Summer is a girl who exudes warmth – her name is Program. Together with her eight siblings – Elsa, Kirby, Mina, Milkshake, Bubble, Potato, Malia, and Alfie – she currently lives in the shelter in Fântânele with Mama Nova. The spontaneous birth of the nine puppies was a surprise, as Mama Nova originally only came to the shelter for spaying. The kennel now offers safety, but with little space, scarce exercise, and little human proximity. From their straw bed, the puppies can observe the snowfall. Summer is open, playful, and very curious. She loves to play with her siblings, explore new things, and already shows joy in play. A puppy in the home brings chaos, play, first lessons, and much attention – Summer will certainly master these challenges together with her people! Her final size cannot be accurately estimated yet; the mother is athletic and about 55 cm tall. Over time, Summer will develop strong legs that will allow for much movement. By the end of February, Summer will be ready for her own home. Her wish is a forever family that will lovingly accompany her. A foster home would also be a valuable stepping stone into her new life. At the moment, Summer is a wonderful, cheerful puppy full of curiosity. In a few months, she will also enter puberty, a time that requires loving consistency in her upbringing. Therefore, it makes sense to support Summers new people in their cooperation with a positively working dog training class. Patient and loving training will promote her development and strengthen the bond to her trusted people. Through regular contact with fellow animals and many positive experiences with her people, Summer will hopefully develop into a happy and reliable companion. Many thanks to the community! You have given Summer her name! As of 01.03. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Vielen Dank Community! Ihr habt Summer ihren Namen geschenkt! Stand: 01.03.2026

About Summer

What life with Summer looks like

Summer is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Summer, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Summer?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Summer on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Summer if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Summer already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Summer isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Summer and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
