Adopt Suri

Unknown · Young · 2 years

March 2026 Our cute semi-longhair prince Suri has settled well into his foster home. In the first two weeks, he was very insecure and hissed at the two tomcats. However, they have shown great patience with him. Bianchino, Carlo, and Suri have since grown into a fantastic trio. They play, run, wrestle, and cuddle with each other and are a playful bunch. Suri is by far the most people-oriented in the trio; he loves the closeness to his foster mom and is happy when she has extra time for him to play with the feather wand or for long cuddle sessions. Suri actively seeks out human closeness. No wonder, since he had lived in a family from a young age. While playing, Suri develops a lot of temperament and loves to climb and jump. The reason for his surrender was his lack of cleanliness. This is now history. Suri has clearly had no stress moments in his new environment and feels comfortable in the company of the two relaxed tomcats and his experienced foster mom. He is a very complicated and lovable companion who now awaits a loving family to give him a wonderful home. Since Suri already had a free roam, we are looking for a home for him in a traffic-calmed area. A cat-proof garden would also be an option for Suri. The people-oriented, just-over-two-year-old tomcat is seeking a family where he can have plenty of attention, cuddle moments, and playtime. If there are children in the family, they should already be 12 years or older. He would also like to move into his new home with his friend Carlo, as the two understand each other very well. Since Suri is quite brave and explorative, Carlo could easily orient himself to him. December 2025 December 13. This cat needs outdoor access.

About Suri

What life with Suri looks like

Suri is a large young adult cat waiting at PfotenFreunde Sardinien e.V. in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Suri, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Suri?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. PfotenFreunde Sardinien e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Suri on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Suri if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — PfotenFreunde Sardinien e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Suri already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Suri isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with PfotenFreunde Sardinien e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Suri and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
