Sushi

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 6 years

Sushi seeks a quiet and loving home Sushi is a lovely 6-year-old female cat who came to Dyrenes Hus after her owner unfortunately became ill and could no longer care for her. It has been a big change for a cat who has loved her human and been used to a safe home. Now we hope to find a new home where she can get exactly what she loves most: peace, security, closeness and lots of cuddles. Sushi is an incredibly devoted and loving cat. If you sit down on the couch, she will probably soon come strolling over to get some attention. She would rather lie on your lap, be scratched on the head, wash herself a bit and then sleep well and safely near you. She is a cat with a lovely personality. Sometimes she is so quiet that she reminds you of a little ninja. It is not uncommon to discover that she is already sitting outside the bathroom door when you come out, or that she has crept silently after you from room to room to keep you company. Food is also a big highlight in everyday life. When breakfast is approaching, she often comes strolling over with her tail held high and the characteristic "happy cat walk" that is impossible not to smile at. A little wet food is some of the best she knows.

NO·Show original

About Sushi

What life with Sushi looks like

Sushi is a large adult mixed breed cat waiting at Dyreneshus Oslo in Oslo.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇳🇴Adopting from Norway

Norwegian rescues require thorough background checks. Animals leave with a Nordic pet passport and full vetting. Norway is outside the EU so import rules differ slightly — TRACES applies.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sushi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sushi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dyreneshus Oslo handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sushi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sushi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dyreneshus Oslo will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Sushi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sushi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dyreneshus Oslo early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sushi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NO). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
