adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Why was this sweet furball abandoned? Our little Swiffer wonders the same. How could this happen? We don't know – but we're doing our best to find him a family as soon as possible. He got his name probably due to his fur, but our little Swiffer now has been to the dog groomer. Our little Swiffer just wishes for a loving family, a cozy dog bed, and lots of attention. Swiffer is around 2.5 years old and has a small size at 35 cm. He is very friendly and people-oriented. He gets along well with his fellow animals, whether big or small. Unfortunately, we know nothing about Swiffers past, but since Swiffer only has one eye, he must have had an accident at some point. He is not limited by this and does not need to take any medication. Even though Swiffer has already passed the exhausting pubertal phase and likely has already lived in a household, he is looking for people who won't have too many expectations of him and will show him how a normal dog life works. One or two mishaps shouldn't be held against him, and Swiffer should always be guided with a positive and reinforcing training style. He is looking forward to his new life with nature walks, lots of snuggling, and also a visit to the dog training classes. We wish loving people for Swiffer who will show him what an appropriate life looks like. Swiffer travels neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas and of course has an EU pet passport. As of May 13. Many thanks to Claudia D., you gave Swiffer this sweet name.

Vielen Dank an Claudia D., Du hast Swiffer diesen süßen Namen gegeben. About Swiffer

What life with Swiffer looks like

Swiffer is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Swiffer, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Swiffer?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Swiffer on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Swiffer if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Swiffer already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Swiffer isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Swiffer and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
