Sydney

Jack Russell Terrier Β· Female Β· Young Β· 2 years

Everyone meet our next poundie … Sydney!πŸ₯° This little girl is around 2 years old and was a stray who no one came forward to collect!πŸ’” Sadly when she arrived she was very dirty, skinny and out of condition. It was clear she had been tied up somewhere too due to the scarring under her neck. Thankfully, after some much needed TLC, she’s coming along beautifully!β€οΈβ€πŸ©Ή Sydney is a terrier type who can be a little shy to start but quickly warms up to you. She loves her food and that’s the way to her heart.😍 This girl is fab in the car and loves going out on her walks. She is ok around dogs but scared of over excited dogs. It’s clear she hasn’t had the right socialisation however she is improving daily!🐢 At the vets, she was a good girl. She has started her vaccinations, been mircochipped, flead, wormed and booked in to be spayed when she’s ready. Apart from needing to gain some overall condition, she’s healthy. It’s clear she’s had a litter or two as well!πŸ’” This girl needs a home where she can completely decompress and start learning about the nice side of what the world has to offer. She is going to blossom beautifully in the right hands.πŸ˜‡ Please do share this lovely mite so she can find her humans.🀞 Remember to complete the form below if you’re interested in adoption:

About Sydney

What life with Sydney looks like

Sydney is a young adult jack russell terrier dog waiting at Almost Home Dog Rescue in North Wales.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sydney, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sydney?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Almost Home Dog Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sydney on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sydney if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Almost Home Dog Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sydney already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sydney isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Almost Home Dog Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sydney and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
