Tahini (& Marmite)

Mixed Breed Cat · Female · Kitten · 1 month

Hello, we’re Marmite and Tahini, two little girls with very sweet natures and lots of love to give. We may have had a difficult start to life, but we’re ready to put that behind us and find a forever home where we can grow, explore, and be loved like every kitten should be.We were part of the litter of kittens found abandoned in a cardboard box beside a roundabout when we were only 4 weeks old. We were far too little to fend for ourselves, so we needed lots of care and kindness from the team who took us in. Thankfully, we’ve been given the chance to grow up surrounded by people who want the very best for us, and now we’re ready to begin our next adventure.Marmite is the confident one of the pair. She’s a calm, composed little lady who takes things in her stride and seems quite happy to see what the world has to offer. While some kittens might need a little time to work up the courage to investigate something new, Marmite is often ready to take things as they come. She has a lovely nature and is just the sort of sister you’d want beside you when you’re figuring out life. Tahini, on the other hand, can be a little shy when faced with something unfamiliar. She sometimes needs a moment to take everything in and make sure she feels comfortable before showing her full personality which is why it is so important that we stay together. We’re hoping to find a home that will welcome us both, because having each other makes such a difference. About Tahini (& Marmite)

What life with Tahini (& Marmite) looks like

Tahini (& Marmite) is a kitten mixed breed cat cat waiting at National Animal Welfare Trust in Watford.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tahini (& Marmite), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tahini (& Marmite)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. National Animal Welfare Trust handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tahini (& Marmite) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tahini (& Marmite) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — National Animal Welfare Trust will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Tahini (& Marmite) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tahini (& Marmite) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with National Animal Welfare Trust early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tahini (& Marmite) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
