Adopt Tammy and Denzel

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 13 years

If you are thinking about adopting a pair of oldies, you may want to read our article Are Two Oldies better than One? Tammy and Denzel arrived at FOAL Farm, Biggin Hill in Kent through no fault of their own, but due to a change in their family's circumstances who were no longer able to care for them. They have been together forever, so are looking for a loving home where they can get twice the love and cuddles. They would like a home where they are the only dogs, where any children are sensible and respectful and there are no cats. Denzel is a black Chihuahua and the baby of the pair at 5yrs old. He can be nervous of other dogs that he doesn't know and will run away from them rather than confront them. He has not shown any aggression. Once he gets to know you he is such a little cuddle monster and will do anything for a snuggle. He can get a bit jealous of Tammy, but as they have been together forever they need to stay that way. Denzel would benefit from some additional socialisation and training in order to build on his confidence. At 13 years old Tammy is very set in her ways. She knows what she wants and will always get her way if she can ! Her favourite things are food, sleeping and being fussed over ! Short walks are Tammy's thing these days and her little legs are no longer able to keep up with Denzel. Denzel has been neutured since arriving at FOAL Farm and he was a very brave boy. Tammy has a little heart murmur which can be common in older dogs and her breed. The vet has advised that she would benefit from a dental and also having the the wart removed from her eye, but its hoped she will be in her new home by then so she can recover with lots of TLC. Denzil and Tammy are the sweetest and most loving pair and will make wonderful companions to a very lucky person. About Tammy and Denzel

What life with Tammy and Denzel looks like

Tammy and Denzel is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at The Oldies Club in United Kingdom.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tammy and Denzel, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tammy and Denzel?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. The Oldies Club handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tammy and Denzel on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tammy and Denzel if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — The Oldies Club will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tammy and Denzel already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tammy and Denzel isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with The Oldies Club early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tammy and Denzel and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
