Meet Tammy! πŸ’• Tammy came to us through the stray system and, sadly, was never claimed. πŸ˜” We can’t imagine how this sweet little girl found herself without a family, but we’re determined to help her find the loving home she so deserves. πŸ’• Tammy is a Patterdale and is estimated to be around 5 years old. Understandably, Tammy was quite nervous when she first arrived with us, but she has slowly started to come out of her shell, and we’re now beginning to see her true personality shine through. 😊 Once she gets to know you, Tammy can be a really affectionate little girl, and she enjoys having company. πŸ₯° In true Patterdale style, she can also be quite vocal β€” and she is FAST! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ’¨ She’ll need an active home with someone who is quick on their feet and ready to keep up with all her cheeky antics! 😝 Tammy has also proved that she is quite the climber, so a very secure garden will be essential for keeping this little escape artist safe! πŸ” She is a playful girl who will thrive in a home where she can be kept entertained, enjoy plenty of exciting walks and have lots of opportunities to burn off her energy.πŸ˜€ We’re still getting to know Tammy around other dogs. So far, she has been quite vocal in their presence, so we’ll continue to assess her suitability for living with another dog. We are still happy to consider meet-and-greets with potential canine companions, as these will help us better understand how she responds to other dogs.🐢 Because we don’t know much about Tammy’s past, combined with her sometimes nervous nature, we feel an adult-only home would be best for her. Tammy also has a naturally strong prey drive, so she would need to be the only pet where cats and small animals are concerned. Tammy is looking for someone who will cherish her, embrace her zest for life and give her all the love, fun and adventures she deserves. πŸ’œ If you think you could be Tammy’s special person, please give us a call on . πŸ’™ Could you be the forever home Tammy has been waiting for? πŸΎπŸ’•

About Tammy

What life with Tammy looks like

Tammy is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Hull Animal Welfare Trust in South Cave.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tammy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tammy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hull Animal Welfare Trust handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tammy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tammy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Hull Animal Welfare Trust will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tammy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tammy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hull Animal Welfare Trust early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tammy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
