Adopt Tango

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 2 years

English translation: Brittany Spaniel born 05/2023 approximately 52cm tall Compatible with: male dogs, female dogs and cats Children have not yet been tested Tango is a young male Brittany Spaniel who enchants you immediately with his soft, warm gaze and beautiful coat. In his eyes, there’s a mix of curiosity, gentleness, and the quiet hope of finally being seen. Currently, Tango lives with our friends at a Spanish animal shelter where he shows himself as a friendly and social dog who gets along well with other dogs and also poses no problems towards cats. He meets his environment openly and lovingly without being pushy – more of a delicate, sensitive character who wants to bond closely with people. As a young dog, Tango naturally brings joy and enthusiasm for discovery. He wants to get to know the world, be out and about together with his people, and learn step by step everything that belongs to a happy dog life. In doing so, he appears balanced and pleasant to handle, making him suitable for both active ventures and quiet moments. For Tango, we wish for a loving home where he can settle in and gain trust. People who accompany him patiently, give him security, and support him will find in him a loyal, affectionate companion who wants to give away all his heart. Who will give this gentle, beautiful male dog the chance for a new life and show him what true safety feels like? Tango is, of course, microchipped, vaccinated, neutered, registered, and has been checked by a veterinarian. Additionally, he has been tested for Mediterranean diseases and will bring an EU vaccination certificate to his new home. We’ve compiled all the pictures we have of Tango into a slideshow above on the page. Just take your time to look through the images, or click on them to view the next picture. Contact:

Epagneul Breton geb. Kontakt: Julia Streitl 01 77 – 21 16 44 7

About Tango

What life with Tango looks like

Tango is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Hoffnungsvolle Tierherzen e.V. in Essingen.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tango, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tango?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hoffnungsvolle Tierherzen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tango on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tango if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hoffnungsvolle Tierherzen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tango already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tango isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hoffnungsvolle Tierherzen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tango and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
