adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Tauro has found a home! His story: Tauro is currently still light as a feather at around 7 kg, but his presence is already huge! Tauro has beautiful fluffy black fur with a hint of white – simply irresistible! We can't rule out that a few diligent hound ancestors might have mixed in at Tauros. Not only is Tauro handsome, but he's also super friendly, open, curious, and immediately there when you enter the kennel. He loves being close to people! Found together with his siblings in the forest – cold, hungry, and desperate. But those days are thankfully over! Now, this brave little fellow, who will likely grow into a medium to large male dog, is searching for his very own happy ending and a couch to cuddle on. He gets along well with other dogs, but whether that also applies to cats, we don't know. As a puppy, Tauro was like a sponge: eager to learn, explore, and most of all, to cuddle! The puppy stage requires patience, lots of positive reinforcement, and especially playful introduction to life in a family! House training, gradual independence, basic commands – all of this should be learned playfully. And when you think the essentials are done – zack, comes the famous puberty! The hound genes could mean he becomes headstrong and busy. Suddenly, he tests his limits, thinks he knows it all, and his ears are on high alert. Don't worry, that's normal! What's important is consistency, love, patience, and a sense of humor! Clear rules, an engaging anti-boredom program (thinking games, nose work, light training), enough exercise, and most importantly: creating quiet zones. Tauro then needs a reliable hand to guide him through this wild time and channel his energy into positive directions. A visit to dog training classes could be helpful at this point to learn and strengthen bonds together. Tauro travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated with his EU pet passport to his family. After a positive But he would also be thrilled to go to a foster home. Are you ready to give this enchanting, lively treasure a life full of love, adventure, and security? Thank you, Martina K.! With your namesake sponsorship, you've given Tauro an identity – now all that's missing is his own family! As of: 10.12.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stubenreinheit, schrittweises Alleinebleiben, Grundkommandos – all das will spielerisch gelernt werden. Stand: 10.12.2025

About Tauro

What life with Tauro looks like

Tauro is a extra-large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tauro, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tauro?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tauro on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tauro if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tauro already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tauro isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tauro and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
